VISUAL ART

In middle school I was president of the math team because I was just weirdly good at geometry. Then I failed calculus in high school, somehow that makes it all make sense.

CONCEPT DRAWINGS

Drawing has always entertained me because you can draw almost anywhere. It's also a crucial aspect of design, to visualize a previously nebulous concept into something tangible. To see more of my drawings for various costume renderings and class projects, click below!

DESIGN PAPERWORK

To most designers this is the tedious busy work... I'm most designers. However, I'm also a perfectionist who recognizes the importance of having legible and accurate paperwork to build on from the beginning of production.Thankfully a large part of my education involved learning how to make professional signal flow charts, speaker plots, and SFX sheets (etc) that are useful for the entire team.As upperclassmen the BFA Sound Designers created various educational materials on audio engineering for the Thornton School of Music, to be used by educators in future lectures.Click below to see some examples of my design paperwork, or to learn more about DI Boxes from my fun powerpoint!

MISCELLANEOUS

HAND DRAFTING

I'll be honest, I hate lights. All respect to lighting designers, but I do not envy y'all. That said, a few collegiate classes on lighting design have gained me lifetimes worth of experience in hand drafting and scale modelling.Shoutout to lighting designer Elizabeth Harper for teaching me how to have patience with something you're initially bad at.

AUTOCAD / DIGITAL DRAFTING

Going through hand drafting bootcamp made me extraordinarily grateful for AutoCAD. Having practical digital drafting experience under my belt before graduation proved to be invaluable.Shout out to scenic designer Tak Kata for making learning such a painful chore fun and insightful every single day!

I MADE THIS LAMP!!!

Made using a pattern I found online, AutoCAD, a laser cutter machine, a CNC machine, and some elbow grease. Was super excited to have access to resources in college haha.

PHOTOGRAPHY

Yes, I take pictures too, I'm quite good at it! The rule of thirds has always been a friend of mine. There is no DSLR that I cannot conquer. And like I said, I'm not afraid of bears.
